The circuit
Designed by engineer Gianfranco Agnoletto and opened in 2006 in a former quarry 12 metres below ground level, the Franciacorta race track was for years home to the Trofei Motoestate and the Coppa FMI. After the operator went bankrupt, it was bought by Porsche in 2019 and in 2021 reopened as the Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta, the largest in the world, with a resurfaced track, low-grip areas, electric karts and a panoramic restaurant; today motorcycle activity is limited to dedicated events.
